Full red colour with a tinge of purple. The bouquet lifted and slightly volatile from the high alcohol strength; the body very full and rich, dense, concentrated and sumptuously textured. A big, solid wine with great intensity, concentration and power. Impressive stuff; for long-term cellaring.

The 2015 Fat of the Land Seppeltsfield Shiraz spent 20 months in hogsheads, and that oak influence shows in the smoky, grilled-meat aromas. Underneath, there's enough concentrated blackberry and raspberry notes to provide a sense of balance. Full-bodied and velvety, with a long, plush finish, it offers a lot to like.

The bouquet suggests structured black fruits, and that is precisely what the palate delivers, although it is not a question of weight or body. This simply needs time for more fat to cover the bones.
