From a unique vineyard near Kersbrook in the northern Adelaide Hills (340m above sea level on complex sandy clay loams over shale) that is ideally suited to growing Nebbiolo, this wine is made with longevity in mind.The fruit was destemmed, wild fermented and gently plunged during its 30 day maceration. After which the wine was pressed to 40% new French oak hogsheads and matured sur lie for 20 months.
Savoury and unyielding, tuck a few bottles away and wake it up when you feel the Forza!

This is a little deeper and younger looking than the Home of the Brave Nebbiolo 2009. On the nose there’s a classic Nebbiolo fragrance of red fruit, light spice and a hard to describe savoury-sweetness. On the palate, the texture has the thickness of more oak but the tannins are still very fine and compact. Currently less come-hither than the Home of the Brave but there’s depth and serious length here – and the potential for a fine old age, with lots of pleasure in between. The last drop sitting in the glasses was flagrantly red fruited and juicy. With canneloni, it slid down a treat. (JH)

Though the season might have played a hand, the wine maintains medium weight and a flourish of chompy tannins. It smells of earth, red fruit and rose water and sits slender in the palate. Finishes with authority of structure and firmness. Good Feel here.
